Take hold of the new whole-body workout. Progression Kettlebells come in a variety of weights. Each one puts the kettlebell’s secret advantage to work on your arms, legs and core.
Unlike dumbbells, kettlebells are constructed with an uneven weight distribution and offset centre of gravity, compelling users to rely on their own counterbalancing and stabilization. This results in a total-body workout, activating almost every muscle group and significantly improving your cardio.
In fact, one American Council on Exercise study indicated twice-weekly KB training can improve aerobic capacity by 14% and core strength by 70%. This makes kettlebell training a valuable resource not only for athletes aiming to hit peak fitness, but also for older adults and others looking to rebuild their muscle and balance functionality.
This Progression set features 10 solid cast iron bells weighing between 4 and 40kg – allowing for targeted, incremental development of specific muscle groups. Each kettlebell is coated with resilient vinyl and colour-coded by weight for quick selection. A rubber base plate provides cushioning and prevents floor scratches when you set your weight down after an exhausting set.
Besides strength, cardio and unscuffed floors, kettlebells also deliver enhanced functionality and fat burning. ACE research also indicated that the average person can burn 400 calories in a 20-minute kettlebell workout. It’s the same burn rate (20 calories a minute) you’d achieve running a six-minute mile, but you won’t need a track, just the corner of a room. And several effective KB workouts are directly or indirectly designed to chisel those abs.

PROGRESSING WITH KETTLEBELLS
Work on technique first and once you’ve developed it, do not sacrifice form to perform extra reps or go up in weight (usually in 4kg increments). Doing so could result in muscle strain and potential injury. Strength will improve the more frequently you exercise, but don’t forget you need time to recover. Focus on performing your sets in a shorter amount of time before moving up to a heavier kettlebell.

- Friendly Looking Set
I have seen many plain looking vinyl kettlebells on the Internet. These are not competition kettlebells although I find that the increasing sizes work well if you use 12, 14, 16, 20, and 24 for presses and 28, 32, and 40 for swings or goblet squats. You can use a weight lifting strap while performing swings. Seated presses work well with PFX-300 Utility Bench in a basement gym. I do wish that there was a monster size 50 kg in probably pink or else khaki color.

- Well made but should wear gloves while using
Bought 12kg, 16kg, and 24kg Progression Kettlebells from Saskatoon dealer. They are well made and durable. I like the fact the front face is flat since they rest evenly on the arms when performing curls and shoulder presses. The rubber coating helps with grip, cushioning, and preventing damage when dropped. The handle is also coated but can still be a bit rough on the hands, so I recommend wearing weight lifting gloves while handling, especially with heavier weights. The Progression brand is Flaman's in-house brand and are more affordable than third-party brands while offering similar quality.

- I Like My Kettlebells
Last year, I bought six kettlebells ranging in size from 4kg to 14 kg. This was after a personal trainer introduced me to them on a cruise.
They are a great addition to my exercise equipment.
