Dedication. When you love something it's not hard to be dedicated. Sure, somedays you have to dig a little deeper, but you look to the big picture. Find your purpose and then dig your heels in and find that drive. I hear a lot of "I couldnt do that" or "it's too hard" or "I don't have the time."
My responses are as follows: You can do anything you want to do and set your heart to doing. Of course it's hard, or it wouldn't be work. You work towards a goal. You make the time. We all lead busy lives; if you want something you find a way, you make the time, the effort. Where there is a will, there is a way.
I truly believe in that saying: as soon as you give up that will there isn't a lightness or a joy in what you do. This can be said for your job, your training, even your eating habits. Not everyone has to be a powerlifter or a finess instructor, but finding your goals and not seeing them as impossible is the first step. Find your dedication, your passion and put a fun edge on it.
I have even taken this into the kitchen. I love to bake, so we started making healthy treats. Letting my passion of well-being and health spill over into the kitchen and every aspect of our eating habits when we can. It started with food intolerances as well as label reading. So much junk is out there and by turning some of these goodies around into something more real, we can enjoy them and fuel our bodies with something real. This brings me to dedication: some things just become a lifestyle and that's when it no longer becomes work.
1 can black beans rinsed and drained
4 heaping tbsp honey ( you can also mix in a bit of coconut sugar)
1 tsp vanilla
6 tbsp coconut oil (softened)
4 good sized tbsp cocoa can also use carob and cacao
Pinch of sea salt
Blend all in food processor until smooth. Pour in lined, small square baking pan or pan can be greased well with coconut oil before pouring. You can add chopped nuts, cacao nibs or some coconut. Place in freezer until firm.
Eating well is a component to successful training for me. So finding a way to incorporate a little sweetness is nice. Where there is a will...:)
